Addison County Fairgrounds

Show Manager: Emily Malinowski - Show Secretary: Ellen Turnbull

The Vermont Morgan Horse Association is pleased to continue its annual tradition of celebrating the versatility of America’s original breed of horse, the Morgan Horse, during Vermont Morgan Heritage Days Horse Show. For over 150 years, Vermont fairs have celebrated this unique and hardy horse, representing the rugged land in which it developed. The tradition continues at Heritage Days, Addison County Fairgrounds, Vergennes, VT. This two-day extravaganza is packed with events designed to showcase the beauty and versatility of our beautiful MORGAN HORSE. There is something for all ages and all disciplines!

In continuous operation for over 40 years Vermont Morgan Heritage Days features an open dressage show affiliated with the Champlain Dressage Schooling Series, in-hand classes, an open junior-amateur horse show, open carriage driving show, and trail day. The event is open to the public; all are invited to join us for this fun-filled event!

The Vermont Morgan Horse Association, Inc., came into existence in 1966. Governor Hoff’s Advisory Committee determined that there was an interest and so helped to set up the forum for this to happen. Since 1966, VMHA has continued to offer many events and activities to its members and to the community at large. During the past 44+ years, VMHA has promoted and supported the Morgan Horse and its community from show horse to backyard horse, from breeder to the single horse owner.

One of the very first activities that the club participated in was the World Expo in Montreal Quebec in 1967. As the club grew it started creating more ways to promote and educate the public about the Morgan Horse VMHA even at one point sponsored youths with a Morgan Horse of their own.
