In 1960, the first New York State All-Morgan Horse Show was promoted at the New York State Fairgrounds and the Davis Memorial trophies were established in memory of the late National president, F.O. Davis. The following year saw the start of the high score awards system with trophies for six divisions: stallions, mares, geldings, versatility, equitation and amateurs. In 1962, the futurity high score trophy was added and in 1965 the addition of futurity alumni classes to the annual show.

The 2026 edition of the New York Regional Morgan Horse Show will take place on September 16 - 19, 2026
Yes, the New York Regional Morgan Horse Show is a USEF sanctioned show, the following members must complete SafeSport.
Competing members: Any member 18 years or older, including amateur, professional, and junior members who are 18+
Owners: Owners with an annual, three-year, or lifetime membership
Officials and staff: Licensed officials, Chefs d'Equipe, staff, board members, and competition management.
Professionals: Coaches, human physios, farriers, trainers, and veterinarians.
Selectors: Selectors hired or contracted by USEF.
The New York Regional Morgan Horse Show offers a wide range of divisions including: Park Saddle, Park Harness, English Pleasure, English Pleasure Driving, Classic Pleasure, Classic Pleasure Driving, Hunterseat, Western, Equitation, Roadster, Roadhack, Carriage Driving, Dressage, Driven Dressage, and Academy.
Please note the New York Regional Morgan Horse Show does not offer jumping at this time.

Each January, the New York Morgan Society Stallion Services Auction opens the door to one of the most unique opportunities in the Morgan world where legacy, excellence, and future champions converge.
This highly anticipated annual event offers an exclusive collection of breedings to World Champion stallions and proven sires of World and Grand National Champions. Every bid carries purpose: all proceeds are reinvested directly into the New York Morgan Regional Championship Horse Show, enhancing the Sweepstakes prize money.
The impact is felt long after the gavel falls. Offspring from auction stallions are eligible to compete for thousands of dollars in premiums in dedicated Sweepstakes classes held each September at the New York Morgan Regional Championship, adding prestige, value, and distinction to every eligible entry.
In 2025 alone, this singular initiative generated over $30,000 in prize money, rewarding excellence and underscoring the Society’s commitment to investing in the future of the Morgan horse.
